Inspired by the challenges faced by friends and family in school, our project strives to change how academic progress is evaluated. Traditional grading often overlooks a student's true comprehension, focusing too heavily on exam scores. We aim to shift this by assessing students over time, considering their strengths, learning styles, and teamwork abilities, not just their letter grades. This holistic approach will help students recognize their growth beyond grades, fostering motivation and a deeper love for learning. Additionally, we aim to assist teachers in adopting this innovative assessment model, promoting a more comprehensive and fair evaluation system.

RocketDriver is the software system that controls the physical components of the Theseus rocket and connects those components to the graphical user interface. The primary goal of this software is to ensure safety during testing and launch by collecting temperature and pressure data for operators to monitor, carefully managing actuator and igniter timing, and ensuring the system behaves only in expected ways.

Professional Background

Hi, I'm Bonnie White a proactive software developer and recent Computer Science, B.S recipient. For the last 3+ years, I have worked as a junior software engineer building several successful software-as-a-service products and seen my company through significant growth. The last 8 years of my life have been dedicated to honing my programming skills as well as mastering my communication and business capabilities. I am familiar with many languages and tools spanning from the front lines of AI & machine learning to embedded software for rocketry. Additionally, I enriched my education through supplemental learning programs with Girls Who Code, Salesforce Pathfinders, and Breakthrough Tech AI. My ultimate goal is to work as a software engineer at a company where I can grow my talents further and prove myself as a valuable employee and reliable co-worker capable of thriving in any professional environment.

I am proud to embody the spirit of a true engineer—someone who always finds joy in experiencing the setbacks and victories of innovation.

Personal Background

Adopted from China and raised by artists within San Francisco’s vibrant community, I was always taught to embrace creativity and exploration. Ironically I found my passion in Computer Science, an industry I had to learn on my own. China’s one-child policy, overcoming a chronic illness, and navigating a single-parent, low-income household through 2007 all served as obstacles that instilled resilience, resourcefulness, and a deep sense of purpose within me. I found strength and inspiration from powerful women in STEM and found myself championed by supporters who have not only seen to the growth of my skills but also a strong community in pursuit of my career. Grateful for the opportunities I once thought unattainable, I am committed to using my expertise to make a positive impact. I seek kindness in my work, impact in my actions, and potential in myself.

Cooking

Trying out new restaurants, experimenting with new recipes, and throwing fun dinner parties for my friends.

Dance

Kpop, Jazz Funk, Heels choreography, my favorite way to keep active and reach new goals

Singing

In highschool, I studied classical vocal. Nowadays, I enjoy singing to de-stress and spend quality time with my musical friends

Cosplay

Designing and sewing tailored costumes and weapon props for my favorite fantasy characters, then taking them to Anime Expo and Fanime to take pictures and make great memories.

Guitar

Learning different renditions of my favorite themesongs and artists and to acompany my singing sessions

Gaming

The perfect reward after a long day of hard work: gaming with a group of friends and laughing so hard you feel it in your abs the next day.
